PADDLESPORT SAFETY AND RESCUE COURSE (PSRC

Join us for the new British Canoeing Paddlesport Safety and Rescue Course.
This course is new for 2023 and will replace the old FSRT - A relaxed and fun day on the water learning the latest in safety and rescue techniques for the sheltered water environment.

On this course you will be introduced to a wide range of rescues to help keep you and others safe and dry in sheltered and very sheltered water. Not only is it a prerequisite for anyone looking to attend a Paddlesport Instructor course it is also highly recommended for anybody who paddles on sheltered water to give you the tools to deal with common incidents that may occur.

You do not have to be a world class paddler to attend this course, if you can get your boat to its desired location on flat water that’s good enough for us!
We promise that you will go away with loads to play with and tell your mates about, as well as learning to rescue kayaks, canoes, Sups and sit on tops from your choice of craft.

We will be spending most of the day on and in the water, so you do need to be prepared to get wet whilst having fun, experimenting and problem solving loads of different possible rescue scenarios.
Remember this is a training course not and assessment so there’s no pressure and you can try out any ideas and ask any question you may have.

You will need to bring:

• A suitable Craft( Kayak, Sit on top, Canoe or SUP)

• Suitable clothing for spending the day in and out of the water we recommend a wetsuit, dry suit with lots of thermal layers.

• Paddle

• Helmet

• Buoyancy Aid

• Suitable footwear (trainers or wet shoes) no hiking boots

• Layers of warm clothing 

• Lunch 

• Hot drink 

• Full Change of clothes

We do however have wetsuits, helmets, Buoyancy aids, paddles and a range of craft to choose from during the course if you don't have access to your own

**All Participants must be over 18 unless accompanied by a legal guardian also taking part on the course**
